VectoTrail Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 25, 2026
We prioritize your privacy and the protection of your field data. This Privacy Policy outlines how the VectoTrail application manages your data.
1. "Offline-First" Architecture (Privacy by Design)
VectoTrail is designed as a local and private working tool. WE DO NOT collect, store, or send data to our servers:
Your GPS locations (Tracks or Points).
Photos taken by the application.
Forms, annotations, or calculated measurements.
Any geographic projects you create.
All of your geographic data is securely stored on your device's local storage. No geographic or photographic data is transferred from your device unless you choose to manually export and share it using external tools.
2. Data We Collect (Only Error and Diagnostic Logs)
To ensure that VectoTrail performs flawlessly in the field (where crashes can result in lost work), we utilize the diagnostic service Firebase Crashlytics (provided by Google LLC).
This service automatically gathers anonymous crash reports if the application shuts down unexpectedly. The only data collected consists of:
Crash logs: Lines of application code where the error occurred.
Device information: Your phone model, Android version, and available memory at the time of the crash.
Anonymous device identifiers: A randomly generated ID to track if the same error is affecting multiple users.
These reports do not include your name, your location on the map, your photos, or any field data. They are used exclusively by our development team to identify bugs, issue fix updates, and enhance the stability of the tool.
3. Retention and Deletion
Diagnostic logs collected by Firebase Crashlytics are temporarily held by Google's infrastructure and automatically and permanently deleted after 90 days. Since we do not require account creation or retain your personal data, there is no need to request account deletion. To remove all of your field data, you can simply uninstall the application or clear its local storage in your Android system settings.
4. Permissions Requested by the App
VectoTrail requests specific permissions on your device solely for its functionality:
Location (Background and Foreground): Essential for tracking your path on the map and creating points even when the phone's screen is off. Again, GPS data is processed locally and never transmitted to the cloud.
Camera: Necessary for adding photos to map forms and annotations.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may revise our Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect alterations in our tool. We will publish the updates on this page. We encourage you to review this policy regularly.
